Unplugged

Three days to find out what you think without the noise.

The premise

Success has a cost nobody puts on the invoice.

You built something real. Somewhere in the building, the tools that were supposed to give you leverage started taking the thing you actually run on, which is your attention.

The calendar fills. The notifications never stop. The thinking that got you here gets squeezed into the gaps between other people's urgency. Most people at your level do not need another framework. They need a room with no signal in it.

This is three days in the Sonoran desert with thirty people carrying the same weight, and no phone to hide behind.

11

Hours a day the average American adult spends looking at a screen. American Optometric Association.

30

Founding members. This is the first Unplugged, and the room is built small on purpose.

The ritual

Your phone goes into a bag on Thursday. You get it back on Saturday night.

Not a suggestion, and not a locker you can quietly visit. On arrival every phone is collected into a burlap bag and set aside. What happens in the three days after that is the entire point of the event, and it does not happen if the room can still reach you.

I

The arrival

Thursday at dusk, before dinner. Phones collected, introductions made, the weekend framed. The quiet starts immediately and it is louder than people expect.

II

The open middle

One session each morning. Then the afternoon is genuinely yours. Trails, water, spa, court, or a long stretch of nothing. No one takes attendance.

III

The burning

Saturday night at the firepit, you put what you came to put down in writing, and you burn it. Phones are returned after, once the thing is already done.

Who is in the room

Two facilitators, and the people who built this.

Coach and facilitator

Matthew Ferry

Author, teacher, and master NLP practitioner. Thirty years in mindset and peak performance.

Matthew has spent his career on one question, which is who you have to be in order to do the thing you already know how to do. He leads the morning sessions as experiential work rather than lecture.

Coach and facilitator

William Lamb

Coach and facilitator.

William co-leads the morning sessions alongside Matthew. Detail on the work he runs will be published here shortly.
